HI, Everyone. I was having problems with my bike motor mounts and the motor moving around. I decided to take the motor out and inspect the mounts. Unfortunately, the threads are damaged. As the motor unit itself is fine and its just the casing that is damaged I wondered if anyone had a Bosch Gen 4 motor they would sell. Ideally, a bust one as all I need is the casing. Ive asked around a few places but they want too much money just for the casing. so thought i would put a message out thanks, everyone.

This just happened to my neighbour’s Rail 9.7. He texted me last night. Apparently one of the motor mount bolt snapped off. The Trek dealer said; “replace the motor.”(Bosch gen4).
I haven’t seen this yet but an easy-out or heli-coil (like @Third-Reef said), could be a solution. I’ll post pics if possible. I’d be interested in seeing repairs or any suggestions of repairs after pics are posted.
Replacing an entire motor seems like an expensive solution if it’s only a casing bolt. A peddle strike is a likely cause but c’mon…these are mtb’s. An incorrect torque procedure may have caused this also. The rub is, when did this originate?…at the factory during assembly, or after months of riding?
