DIY enter into emtb ?

Hello from continental Europe, NL.
Lurker for a few months.

I am seriously considering a DIY project for about half a year and are now leaning towards Bafang m500 (legal in EU) build. Lightbicyle or DengFu frames are currently in my shortlist.
Might consider a m600 but for the moment still puzzeling on the pro'svis-a-vis a m500 (except power).

Question: how big are the problems with the error 30 code?

Doesn't really seem to be enough known about it at the moment in all honesty.

Like any emtb setup, there will at present always be a risk that water ingress somewhere could cause a problem.

Tips, techniques and manufacturing advancements will hopefully move it forward.

It doesn't seem to be hugely common if that helps. No one using it on flat ground has reported it and if a dyke breaks, error 30 will be the last of your problems.

My impression is from what I have seen in posts here, bafang facebook groups and a.o. the endless sphere forum. (Rob, Patdam, Wayne, Hans etc) but there must be hundreds of cyclist that do not have these problems.
