DIY Bash guard ideas

Hey all!
Looking for advice on a DIY Bash guard.
What have you all done for your conversions? Have anyone build their own bash guards? I was thinking about building it out of sheet aluminum and hand cutting and bending to fit my bike. Then attaching with double sided tape or straps.

Have you looked at Kydex , mouldble by heat , easy to form and cut and super strong , made a bash plate for my Whyte E160-RS-MX
There are some other that have made bashplates from Kydex also , I nicked the idea from a chap on here
