All being well I’m gonna be fitting my Kiox upgrade as well as my new Hope cranks etc, what I’d like to know is would it be a good idea to use some dielectric grease on the plugs just as a prevention is better than a cure scenario, or should I just plug in and play, any advice would be appreciated please

Connector, yes. Conductors, no.
It will help in future disassembly, and also serve to keep out contamination from dust and moisture.

This has been a huge debate on another forum. I personally had to replace my connectors after 2 years as I kept getting battery connection errors on my shimano system due to the connectors.

Basically the original protective coating on the conductors wore off from doing battery changes (I was riding to work every day and doing huge spins on the weekend, and removing the battery for every charge )

I was able to keep the bike running a good 6 months after the first error by applying a very small amount grease after using contact cleaner. I have seen people recommend using a nail varnish brush. I charge on the bike now and ride a lot less as I work from home, so I didn't bother putting grease on the new connectors.

Nice one guys, I know Whyte bikes are pretty good at keeping the damp and other stuff out but preventing any problems is a bit of a hobby horse subject to me especially when I’m disconnecting plugs etc, much appreciated guy’s 👍
