Dengfu E10 - The CHEEB V1.0 - Discussion

I have mailed EBIKE-MTB and explained that I have an YT Decoy 29 that does not have an CE mark sticker on the ebike, like SCOTT, nor a CE declaration in the YT documentation, nor can I find the word EPAC in the documentation.

Correction: while searching for a frame number I found the CE mark at the motor-mount but facing the rear-wheel. You can only read it when you remove the rear-wheel. Looks like the sticker is for all Decoy models.

Hi guys... Painted a few things in my time but never carbon, what type of primer, paint and top coat should be used? As in what should be the main element, water based? Or am I asking a daft question and I shouldn't worry?

In January I ordered an E10 frame, Bafang M500 and the 840 wh battery.
In the absence of that material I have almost everything prepared, but I have a question.
What is the minimum disc diameter of the rear wheel ?
Thanks

OK I did 10K yesterday on the new M500 motor.

Power is most certainly more and the bike feels much more responsive:

- In level 3 peak power is reached much quicker with slower cadence and less rider torque
- Power was showing at 500w+ on the display constantly on hills, rather than just occasionally on the previous motor
- Seems to be a small bit of overrun (bit like Bosch) after you stop pedaling

Still not quite as instant to engage up to full power as some other motors. Requires a couple of rotations, but its a fair bit different to before.

Also, I asked Bafang about the differences. Here's what they say:

1. The hardware is changed from existing M500, we changed winding turns from 19T to 15T in motor and 6 FAMOS to 12 FAMOS in controller.

2. The firmware/software is also changed. The response time of motor start changes with torque, torque response is faster, constant power output of high step frequency, constant torque output of low step frequency, etc

3. Because of the hardware changing, we can not update firmware at existing M500 to achieve the same performance.

Thanks Rob for the update. Hopefully you'll let us see also a video review ?. Could you please ask Bafang if new ordered motors will be delivered with the updates? I just had feedbwck from Dengfu and they said that bafang delayed with delivery of the motors; they wont ship new motors before end march so there's some hope that the update is the reason for it. Thanks for your help ?

so those who have existing m500 wont be able to upgrade, is my understanding, correct?

Yes, very unhappily it is that...
I'm not satisfied with that situation.
I think that a big Chinese company like Bafang could find a solution from their European center in Holland to do a motor exchange. I just received mine a few days ago, and it's resting in its cardboard box while waiting for the frame from Dengfu, scheduled for early April ...
I am really disappointed ? Really...

Well that killed off any orders of the M500 until we can work out what the new motors serial numbers are.

Bad form on Bafang in some ways as they had an almost identical problem with the BBS02 motor, which they resolved and it turned out to be a brilliantly reliable very capable motor. But at that stage they had no opposition, now they have Brose, Shimano, Bosch all ahead of them. Simple marketing would be just to offer an exchange motor, as the numbers out there must be tiny.

Same disappointment for me. When I ordered they said fram and motor will be delivered in beginning march. Now they are saying that the frame wont be send before end of march or even april and that bafang do also have problems with delivery. Think its just once more that Covid is making problems - or (hopefully) that bafang do have to update the production to send "new" and updated motors to new customers.

very very tiny, for sure!
I hope that Bafang will be understanding and will find a solution to exchange the old motors. I am ready to think with them about a satisfactory solution. I think it's in everyone's interest to put some goodwill into it!

Don't worry, mine ain't much better ;)

it is a tool box. we do not need extender with 17Ah battery, at this time i never eat more than 30% for +- 1500 m D+ in add with using mostly mode 2 (on 3)
Uau!!! 1500m D+ with 30% of battery??? You really do enjoy pedaling by yourself ??

This autonomy change all. Before with the spectral i need to manage the consumption to avoid empty battery (done 1 time => very bad trip) and sometime i arrived up the mountain fully "burned", whitout energy to take pleasure in downhill. now with the dengfu, i do not take care of the battery, i use less power to climb and i can take a lot fun in down. do you go sometime to the pyrenee ? do you know alto gallego BTT

we ride on the two side of pyrennees, generally on biescas, villanua, jaca, but actually with covid i do not go since 6 month. Too many people in ainsa for me.
It is a good idee doing a meeting when we return in "normal" life. I have a lot of dream tracks to share.

More near madrid you have albarracin, i never rode there with the bicycle, but when i pass in motorcycle, it seem also a good place no ?

That would be great!! Let see if we receive the parts from China
You have plenty of time, it’s going to be most of the summer before the Brits will be given the nod to travel again.

If you get the frame and the motor is delayed even further then the option of putting a TSDZ2 engine in on a temporary basis maybe an option, I’m getting on well enough with mine to delay ordering the M500 until all the mods are sorted.

Spain has quite a lot of Sierras like Albarracin, and in plenty of them you have very nice tracks to ride your bike. Many are worth a visit. But if you are looking for long and step rides, the pyrenees is the place to go.
We will love to try your dream tracks. We have some in the Pyrenees and also in the Madrid area to share.
