It finally happened. The trusty old Decoy finally gave up after 5500km of more or less trouble free operation. Approx. 8 months out of warranty, I expected a large repair bill. Lucky for me, I took it down to my local-ish Shimano Centre and they got in touch with Madison (UK Shimano disty) and they agreed to replace the motor for free and provide a new 2 year warranty. All in ~£150 for the bike shop diagnostics, removal and shipping of old motor and fitting of new one. She lives to shred another day :p
