hello there im currently looking to buy a new bike, but am undecided between these two options.
anyone care to share thier experience and offer some advice?

option 1 is a cube one44hpc slx800, 2025 with new bosch motor.
option 2 is a whyte e180s which altho it has lasts years motor the suspension and running gear spec looks better. its also 450 quid dearer.
so, give me some guidance please?

These are not the same category of bike so no one can help you.

You just cannot compare a 150/140 to a 180/170 travel bike.

Don't buy travel or motor but the bike that would suit you.

That said I would never buy a new bike that is outdated make no sense for the price and at the same time Cube is really not a bike I would buy, I would even put Canyon above it 100% and that should mean something.

Cube v Whyte...no contest but the E180 is a pretty specific type of full enduro bike.....fine if you are doing bike parks and/ enduro gravity trails but if not then why not look at one of E160 Whyte models....the pick of the crop is the E160 RSX.....very nearly as capable as the E180 downhill but also fine for trail and all mountain type riding.

thanks. i ended up not getting either of them.
i took a reality check, and checked my bank balance.
it ended up that i bought a giant for about half the price of the whyte. £2600 to £4500
ive got to be realistic, my knees are fuct and my chances of doing huge jumps or seriously technical downhill etc is minimal.
im certain the giant will do everything i need it to. its a giant trance x e+3.
i know its got pretty basic suspension etc but it gets decent reviews and will be fine for what i need it for.

thanks for your input.

Just you wait and see...
Riding the emtb will reduce the stress in your knees and they will start to recover a bit, or at least not hurt so much.
Then you will ride further and harder (because your knees don't hurt as much).
Then you will want to do more.
Ambition is a wonderful thing. :)
