I have always run tubeless on my all mountain, enduro/dh bikes and even with low pressure don’t seem to get many flats. I have never broken a wheel, I consider myself easy on wheels as I only weigh about 165lb.

I don’t do huge jumps, more flat flowy with some small kickers and stuff and some occasion rock gardens.

This is my first eBike and I know with the weight things may be different. Are loners like the Cushcore really necessary?

Necessary? no.

I'm same weight as you but I'm very hard on wheels. I've broken many carbon rims.

Tire liners like Cushcore have definitely changed my playing field. Aside from cost, on an e-bike, it's tough not to recommend them. The weight and increased rolling mass is negated by the motor. The only downsides are cost, initial pain of installation (easier when you know what you're doing and I highly recommend the Cushcore bead-dropper tool) and potential hassle of a trailside repair.

Upsides: no more pinch flats. Ability to run lower pressures and not worry about slamming into those rock gardens at speed. And a noticeable improvement of sidewall rigidity - all of which are more pronounced on the heavy e-bike.
