Hi all, I’m helping a mate buy a bike for his wife. He has a 625W Bosch CX-equipped bike so keen to stick with batteries they can swap on rides if needed. Reactions look like good VFM.

So my question is - do all Cube Reactions take 625W *Horizontal* Powertubes?

If they come with 500W, can the bracket ne shifted to take 625W?

Hi Mike,
The short answer is no in my experience.
I have a 2019 Reaction hybrid 500SL which has a 500w horizontal in it and my wife has a 2020 Kathmandu with a 625 vertical.
You would have to check that each bikes orientation is the same and they are the same capacity. You definitely won’t be able to get a 625w in a 500w frame and I doubt you could put the 500w in a 625 frame without an adapter to hold it in place.
Good look

I know that in the cube range there was the option to get some biked with a 500 or a 625 Wh battery. In this case it is possible to change the battery mounting end plate to fit a larger battery. It is a fiddly job and takes ages so you can't swap between battery capacities on the go.
Basically, no cubes before the 2020 models could fit a 625 battery.
