Crossmark for my Levo?

My local track in Summertime is Sand/loose over a hardpack base. On my old Trance Maxxis Crossmarks worked very well. This is what is standard on my Levo.

FRONT TYRE Butcher, GRID casing, GRIPTON® compound, 2Bliss Ready, 29x2.6", REAR TYRE Eliminator, BLCK DMND Casing, 2Bliss Ready, 29x2.6"
These are fine when there is some moisture but I doubt they will work in the Summer

Crossmarks only come in 29X2.25. Is there any reason why I can't run this narrow a tyre?
Does anyone have any tyre sugestiond that would be better?

Butchers will be crap
I’m running Specialized Eliminators and I ride mostly sand over hardpack and I love love love them.
Black Dimond on the rear and Grid up front ?

i think on a heavier bike that puts a bit more pressure on the tires cornering and braking you might want that larger contact patch. I am using a bontrager xr2 team 29x2.6 on the front which is similar to a crossmark. On the rear it wore too quickly and traction not so good so i used a maxxis rekon for a while and then the butchers as they are free. Any of these cross country tires kind of suck when you start going faster downhill or up steeper stuff, but it's a tradeoff cuz they do roll easier
