I have a Trek Rail 7 in a Large frame and want to use a 2021 Fox DHX2 coil shock. Fox and Trek were both no help telling me whether shock could fit.
This is quite frustrating.
Anyone here that has actually tried this coil shock on large frame Rail 7?

Speak to tftuned, I’m sure I’ve read a few of their lads have Rails and run coils, probably ohlins though.

The large Rail should be OK with a coil shock, but you would need to check that the reservoir doesn't hit the frame on full compression.

Theres a rail in one of the threads on here with a coil. Sorry , cant remember which thread. Bike is stuck in my mind though. He put a 230 x 60 coil on and that gave it 156ish of rear travel and it also had a 160 or 170 fork. He went back and forth between a mullet and 29f/r. Nice looking bike

Thanks so much. I think I’m gonna take the leap. Seems that was the 2020 shock but 2021 is supposed to be smaller according to Fox. I’ll post after I try it
