My dad bought these at a garage sale in 1993.
I've decided to put them back to good use. The Chappy, in the foreground, is 45 years old, and operates well but the jetting is finicky. Its a 72cc engine that should be more powerful than it is.
The Champ, 44 years old, is waiting on parts. Update soon.
Anyway, around the midwest US these are not very common. The Yamaha engineering and material of 1976-77 is so good, that other than a fuel line, an airfilter, and the fuel petcock rebuild, the Chappy is in use. The Champ needs the same plus tires.
Here is an action shot of the Chappy- accelerating hard out of a hairpin corner.
Edit: added paraphernalia.
