So the reply from haibike said I could buy a Bosch spider adaptor and chainring combo. which involves bolting a narrow wide chainring to this spider then into the bike.

No, I told them I was having problems with the chain and they replied saying they would recommend a chainring upgrade to this so you can run a narrow wide chainring.
My chain has been looked at and has 2 links removed as he couldn’t remove just one due to fitment but that proved to be too tight on the derailleur

This is a picture from the Shimano manual and i only use this for Shimano systems, never had any problem with it.
With a hardtail this is a fast and easy method, with a fully a bit more, but that is once, next time you just have to count the links.

I've had the exact same issue on my haibike. Even the smallest bump would cause the chain flip off the top of the chainring. Chainged chain length, tension etc...., What worked for me was just a narrow wide chain ring. Never had a chain come off ever again

I have just converted to a narrow wide chainring as well Sander. Been out a couple of times over rough terrain and it’s all good at the moment. Fingers crossed. I can’t help but think it’s going to happen and bracing myself for it.
