Chain protection rear mudguard

My effort to avoid the anguish of mud and grit being transferred straight from the back wheel onto the chain. Took a bit of fettling but two rear Mudhuggers, a cut up plant pot as a bridge piece and some 2mm PE sheet and the jobs a good'un. It is for me anyway but not I am sure for the purists. Also visible is the PE supplementary bash plate mounted on rubber bushes to absorb the mechanical shock when striking rocks. Now done 1800 mls on the Stilus. Two chains which are swopped, ultra sonic cleaned and steeped in Scott motorcycle chain oil. I don't use a wear gauge but no sign of roller wear at all and the cassette is like new. Thought a problem was developing on the Bosch motor but turned out to be a rattley front brake spring.
Been experimenting with rubber protection on the pedal end of the cranks to prevent pedal strikes being transmitted to the motor crankshaft, work in progress.
