Cannot connect the cables to the port of the display

I am having a hard time connecting the cables from switch unit to the display, also cable from battery to the display, even with the supplied tool.
Should I force it using the shimano supplied tool?
I just recieved the bike today, it came with the cables disconnected.

You don't have to use massive force to insert the connectors.
But some force is required....maybe put some silicone or similar to get them inserted.
It will pop into it's seated position, and will not fall out easily.

Thanks mate, finally connected. I forced it a bit more, I was afraid to damage it. Now all good.
