Can I install a Bosch gen 4 625 Wah battery into a Bosch gen 4 500 Wah bike?

Yes, 36v.

I'm sure there are others with more knowledge of these things but I guess the theory is ok given the voltages are the same. There could be some internal BMS software issues I guess. If the connectors match then go for it. Only one way to find out.

Is your bike available with the 625 battery or only the 500? If it's the latter then it's pretty unlikely as the 625 is longer than the 500.

The 625 is longer than the 500. The 500 uses a spacer block (not sure the name of it) to fill the void.

Not sure if it bike specific or not, but I know the trek rail for example fits a 625 or a 500 with the spacer. So in this example, yes if you buy a 625 it would fit.

When I ordered my bike they could only order the 500Wh battery version but I wanted the 625 so I paid the extra and the LBS fitted the 625 battery when the bike arrived by removing the 500 spacer block, so yes it can be done

On Cubes, the battery holder can be setup for 500 or 626. I.e. different length batteries.
It is possible to adjust the length of the battery holder for the different batteries.

I haven’t got the bike yet. But if I can’t fit the 625 in it, I probably won’t bother.

The Hard Seven 9 comes with 625 battery.

I believe the 2021 model of my bike has the 625 battery and I know the shop I bought it from told me the 625 would fit, but that was before I found out the 625 was bigger. Maybe there is a spacer inside the tube. Interesting! I'm going to go and ask again...

I just went and looked at the bike and, yes, there is definitely space to put a bigger battery in the tube. It's got a spacer which is bolted into the frame. The spacer seems to have all the wires and contacts running through it, so not just a lump of plastic. Possibly something I would ask the LBS to do rather than doing myself though I think...

I can confirm this for the Trek Rail since I have done it and if you remove you 500 battery you will se whether there is a spacer at one end, its obvious if you are looking for it

Yes you can. You will have to move the upper battery mount up. Here is a link to the owners manual. You just have to remove the battery rail and move the upper mount to the upper holes. https://www.cannondale.com/-/media/.../019_137373_oms my20 habit neo moterra_en.pdf. I have the 625 in my Moterra and all the Moterra share the same battery rail. There is just different mounting holes for the upper mount.
