Gen4 slightly heavier.

Gen3 considerably cheaper presumably.

Do you every run the battery down all the way ??

Do you ever notice the power dropping off when the battery is low (Gen4 is very good and stays consistent all the way through, though the Gen3 is pretty good at this too).

I guess it's the usual question, which one do you think looks the best :)

£3900 Alloy Comp. Usually battery wouldn't be used to less than 20 percent . Don't notice drop off on Gen 2 battery. Saturday ride was 39 miles and 3000ft ascent still 26 percent on battery, it couldn't get much better for a 10,000 mile 6 year old battery I'm thinking. Like a Hooker i prefer to see them in the flesh . Wish me luck.

On paper ... the Gen3 seems to make most sense !! But then you do like destroying motors ..

See if he can get you an Unno ... :)

There are also problems with UN, if you are heavy rider. Yesterday I picked mine Gen 4 ( I had all past levos) I think it’s more revolution of course motor works super smooth but if I need to give honest opinion, with prices going down right now for gen3 I would look for a good deal and get gen 3. I think there will be more problems with gen 4 as it is new construction and always there’s some problems for early adopters

Time will tell and it won't take long for any problems to appear. I wish Specialized all the best. I can't get a gen 3 locally so down south again for me .

Why a Levo at all? There are better bikes! If you are deremined to go for a Levo then the current price discounts for Gen3 make a lot of sense. I had a gen 2 Levo Comp.....good trail bike but needed a number of upgrades to make it more capable. It got stolen! After that I have had 3 Whyte bikes all of which have been completely reliable and far better specced. I still run 2 E160 RSX bikes and with the EMTB mode tuned in the Flow app to 3 it is the only mode I ever need so the rush to extra power in recent bike releases is of no interest to me.

I have checked out the Gen4 Levo and price wise would not even consider the SWorks or Pro.....maybe the Expert if the price reduces later..........which for now leaves the Comp and the spec on that model suggests it would need some upgrades to make it more than a trail bike..............the MBR reviewer actually found the Comp the most compliant and enjoyable to ride having tried all the models!!

I would have thought it would be the Expert or Pro.

Are you stuck on Specialized? Do you want a mullet over a 29er?
Have a 29 er ,to be honest I never noticed that much difference. Last bike a Nicolai was 27.5 on an ordinary bike. I know folk with Bosch and Shimano on their third motors so not convinced they would be any better. The warranty back up I got with Berkshire cycles makes me happy enough to stay with Specialized.

I've recently bought a Gen 3 S Works (£7.5k reduced from £12.5k) and no regrets. The battery and power are plenty for my rides and the bike rips.

It's lighter than the Gen 4 and there's nothing about it (especially the price) that makes me wish I'd waited
