I've gone thru a set of brake pads in less than 500km. I'm looking at getting some nuke proof pads to fit my Magura MT5s. There's 3 options organic, semi-metalic and syntered. Which ones are the best for my e-bike? and will hopefully last longer than <500km!

It'll depend on the type of riding you do, I always go organic, they don't last as long as the others but I live in the dry where it hardly ever rains so they have great bite and are quiet. Metal pads and wet rotors make a racket but will brake better than wet rotors with organic.
Also have a look at the Swisstop brand, I've found them to perform well and their metal pads aren't as noisy on a wet rotor as some of the others.

With brake pads it is always a trade-off.
Organic (soft) are low noise and good power, but fade quickly and wear very fast. Usually have a 'softer' feel so allow for good modulation.
Semi-metallic (medium) are a good compromise with not as good feel as the organics and they take longer to bed in but give reasonable feel.
Sintered (hard) are the long wearing pads that tend to have strong performance in all conditions, but can be very noisy. They are however a lot more heat resistant than the others so are popular for down-hill. These are the longer wearing pads.

The thing to remember is that the harder wearing the pad the shorter wearing your disks will be.
The softer the pad, the quicker they bed in, the less noise and the shorter the wear.

What are you running on your Rusty?

I think I've chewed thru the original magura pads from riding fast downhill trails. I think I might give the sintered a go and can always change over to organics when summer rolls around.

Is winter here so I should be running semi or sintered but have swapped in organics as the Sram Guide RE on my Levo have bugger all feel and squeal like a biarch when it even thinks about getting wet.
On my Scott I am running the OEM Shimano pads but will probably put in organics over the summer when I am going to be doing some adventure riding.
