AArrrgh, I am going to shove a Bosch tube battery up some Bosch's engineers bum.
I click the battery back in place in my Cube Hybrid Stereo, and it doesn't feel quite like normal. When I get home, I find that it is impossible to remove the battery. The battery does drop a few degrees as I unlock, but is then stuck. and I mean screwdriver prying stuck. When I shine a light in there, I see that there is some white plasticky bit blocking the top of the battery.
I ended up having to cut away the white plastic with a hacksaw. When I removed the battery, I could see the cause of the problem. The battery has a lip, which normally pushes the white pawl back. It is spring loaded, so I think its there to help eject the battery?
The white pawl had jumped over the lip, blocking the battery. A crappy sketch (not to scale) below.
Just bad engineering.
