I'm after a faver those that have the Bosch power tube batterys. When you do a full charge (over night etc) once charger has stopped charging(battery full)if you remove charger and plug back in again what happens? Does it continue to charge? Does it check the battery state and not charge(full).
If it continues to change can you please record how long for.

Thanks

Please don't reply if you dont have experience with charging the power tube.

From memory it was 5+ minutes maybe even 15 - a little longer than I expected but nothing really surprising. Almost certainly down to the temperature drop at night.

Surely there must be quite a few Bosch riders here, I think my battery may be faulty ,don't think its charging properly, be really helpful to get some feedback from other Bosch users.

Cheers

What exactly is happening with your battery?

I don't believe the battery is getting a full charge, if I leave the charger plugged in till it stops charging (battery off bike) pull charger out then plug back in it well check state(bms)and continue to charge for a short time. Pretty sure it didn't use to do this. We have 2 other e-bikes neither of them do this!
Charging is NOT in cold conditions.
Is booked in shop next week, there honesty in past hasn't been ideal, they well most likely say its normal which is why I would like some imput from other bosch owners. Is it normal? My wifes giant doesn't do it but that is a different system.

I have 3 Bosch batteries in my house hold; 1 power tube, 2 standard. If I disconnect and reconnect after fully charging, they all appear to ‘top up’ the charge for a few minutes. I expect this is simply a result of the BMS being reset and going through it’s process.

Additionally, in my experience, most battery charging systems reduce the amount of energy added to the battery towards the end of the charge. E.g. 90% of the charge takes 3 hours, 10% of the charge takes 1 hour. (this is just an example of what might be happening, not necessarily fact). So even though it appears it is continuing to charge, the reality is that a tiny amount of energy will be added to the battery; a few mAh.

To conclude, I personally do not believe there is a problem with either your batter or charging system.

Hello there.
I think the reason that you have had a low uptake on your request is that there has been a spate of power tube failures recently when taking off charge and putting back on charge.
This procedure may have killed my power tube after charging directly after my very first ride.
Got new battery from my dealer and now done a 2nd ride and have charged the battery ready as i plan to do a 60 mile plus ride in eco mode fingers crossed.
Hope this helps Tony

Thanks for your responce, it does sound like it maybe fine in that case. Given that you have 3 bosch systems that all do the same. Quite different to the giant system.
I understand the last 10-15% is quite slow. Same as laptop/cell ph/I pad etc.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply ?

This is normal and what I said in my first reply on this thread.
