Hi,
Just got me new Cube Reraction Pro. Noticed, that when im not pedaling and standing on pedals, some ticking noise comes out from engine area. Today i tried to cause ir by swinging chain and same ticking noise appeared. Is it common for these engines?
Can it be some friction plates inside engine? Because while im pedaling not a single noise comes out.

Attached recording of sound which comes out when im keeping pedals tight and rapidly pushing chain like in photo.

Thank you chain.jpg

I was at seller, checked everything.
Seems like when chain getting tightened, something inside motor is catching gear to start to spin it.

If you mean the chain is rotating when the back wheel is rotating and making the motor sound like a ratchet noise then if so it's the cassette freehub that's too tight and not freewheeling correctly.
If it's got the Gen 4 motor fitted then they are noisy when freewheeling down bumpy tracks.
Only other advice I can suggest is to use it.
A common statement in the motor trade was to Kodak it.
Ie let it develop and see what it's like after you have put a few miles on it!

If you watch one of my YouTube videos you can hear the Gen 4 sounding like it's trying to destroy itself on overrun.
Stephen Foster MTB is my channel.
