Bike stuck in walk mode: absolute nightmare

My 2018 Giant DIRT-E+ 1 PRO decided to stay in walk mode after a climb. The power mode was stuck in Eco the rest of the ride. Worse still, there were gates to lift the bike over. So it was pedalling in mid air while it was being lifted. The only way of stopping it was to hold on the rear brake.

I have repeatedly taken the battery off and on, but it still pedals by itself on walk mode right after the battery has been put in.

The weather was dry so no water ingress. I will be taking the bike to the shop ASAP.

I had the exact issue with my Trance E+ Pro1, extremely annoying and dangerous. I gave it back to the shop who replaced the controller. No issues since.
