Batteries weight

Weighted Shimano be-e8010 battery and a new bosch smart 750w battery from Trek Rail:

Shimano 504w = 2.6kg
Bosch 750w=4.9kg

Capacity is bigger by 50% but the weight is 90% heavier. Why? The 750w bosch battery weighs almost like two Shimano 504w batteries.

It's probably something technical like the voltage requirement affecting the design and hence the weight of the metals in there. Riders with Bosch motors claim that they have more range than an equivalent sized battery for a Shimano motor, and higher peak power too. There is no free ride. But I could be talking bollocks, I did that yesterday as well!
