Thought I would make a quick post with regards my DPC241 display bracket failure / fix...
During a night ride last week (where the temperature was less than zero degrees) I noticed my display was not 'sitting' right and on further inspection found that the handle bar clamp had cracked through where it meets the display housing (it broke into 2 pieces on removal). The clamp is an integrated part of the main housing and hence you can't replace it
Still don't know how it failed as to my knowledge I hadn't contacted it during the ride so can only assume it failed from vibration / movement causing fatigue, made worse by the cold climate...
Good news is that if it happens to anyone else there is a simple fix
There are 3-off screws holding a separate 'cover housing' on the back of the display and when removed exposes a small plastic cover positioned over a single treaded insert (made from brass) used to secure the allen head clamp bolt.
You can carefully tap / press out the now exposed brass insert and run a 5mm wide tie wrap through the hole left by the removed insert and then simply re-attach the back cover using the existing 3-off screws . I also added a small piece of mastic tape to the clamp area of the display casing to help it 'grip' the bar a bit.
Not the 'prettiest' of fixes and it may not last but it seems to be working and its cheaper than a new display!
