Its a really good event, every stage is a bit different, little bit of loam through the woods, some grassy descents crossing through farmers fields, lots of rocks obviously! Few steeper bits but nothing majorly technical, there's riders of all abilities doing it, of youre quick you might need to pass slower riders on a stage but they are fairly open with room to pass.

I'd get some heavy duty tyres you see loads of punctures, enjoy ?

hey all! There's no mention in the T&Cs about e-bikes, does anyone know if they are allowed?
I've raced the Ard Rock since 2015, but swapped to an e-Bike ealrier this year. I still have my 2019 tickets (Sport Enduro on Sunday), so here's hoping I can use it them year as the racing and event is awesome!!

I raced at Ard Rock in 2018 in the sport category and have a ticket for 2019 but have now switched to an ebike, I’ve emailed Ard Rock to see what they say about ebikes as I’m definitely not as fit as I was 3 years ago lol don’t think I would be able to do it on an acoustic bike now.

Ebikes listed in the classes near bottom of page, epic is a different format this year, you now do a lap of all the stages and because it's a "challenge event" there are no classes so I assume you will be ok on an ebike

Just had this through to confirm, from Kelly @ Ard Rock.

"Thanks for getting in touch, we do allow ebike to be ridden at the event but only within the Intro,Sport and Epic."

Quality photos those, here's a few of mine.
Managed 59th out of 804 riders on the Sunday Enduro Sport event. I was in as a non-eeb, in that category I'd have come 7th.
I loved the first decent, the crowds were really encouraging! I kept cheering back at them!
Not bad considering at the beginning of March I broke 2 bones in my back, 7 ribs, punctured lung and a few other bits and bobs. plus I'm 49 years old!!!

i got a DNF as we had to miss out stage 3 due to a hydration problem during the transfer after stage 2. I’m gonna try and get tickets for next year as I have unfinished business.

Glad it was only a minor and not something more serious! There were a few DNFs...
