Hi everyone in Australia, any good e bike hatch mounted racks someone can recommend ? Brand new Giant Reign E 0 pro . After a session each day for the last 4 days, tiring of taking the front wheel off , putting brake block in, making sure axel goes back in, sliding bike in, making sure paint etc not chipped and trying to avoid hurting my 57 y old back, then carefully placing spare wheel in, trying desperately not to leave bits behind, then repeating at other end. Yes, first world problem. No tow bar on Audi hatch. We have roof racks , but option of lifting bike up with or without battery , lining up front and rear wheels etc not a preferred option. I suspect I'm off to get a towbar fitted and then a towbar bike rack unless someone can recommend a strong proven e bike hatch mounted rack.
Thanks for any advice in Australia ( many O/S racks on another forum not suitable here. We have very strict licensing laws re visible/ extra number plate and visible/ extra brake/ reversing / number plate lights.

I’m 57 too. Bit the bullet and had a Hayman Reece towbar fitted (2” square) and bought a Thule T2 Pro XT. I’m mostly carrying 2 ebikes so needed a strong setup. Didn’t like the idea of towball mounting. Very happy (other than the cost).

Have you seen these for the roof racks?
Upside Racks

Happy to post mine up if you'd like to give it a try , I use it mostly for quick runs when there is something in the tub of my ranger and I can't be bothered fitting the shingleback. I doubt I'd tryst it for a long drive , mostly because of the risk of grip damage.

I find lifting / fitting these onto rails easier than negotiating with normal racks - something about having the bars clamped / locked ?
