Looks like Specialized has a pretty good warranty policy since you got a new motor after 3 years use.
How long do you expect the bikes different components to last?

Wwwwwwaaaaaaaaa, my 5 year old bike is having issues. In a 5 year period I broke 2 carbon frames, broke 4 I9 rear axles, trashed 3 clippless peddles, had to replace 3 bottom brackets and this was just regular Mtb’s. Add all the extra tech and you add more crap that can ware out.

Jeez 5 years and now you have problems. I’m on my second motor and second power cable (pissed off too as I bought a replacement and the motor went west shortly after so )
Me I’m happy that my Levo lugs my 100kg (wet) up and down the Pennines across slop rocks and there bound to be accelerated wear and tear
Suck it up or maybe beef about your tyres/chain/pads are wearing out too.

Ouch, my MotoBecane Phantom Pro is going on 10 years and only issue is worn out wheel sets and some new suspension components. My Carbon "LUNA" with almost a 1000 miles has a small crack on the upper rear swing arm that was repaired with carbon fiber and epoxy. Love the carbon frame, but do not see it being a lifetime purchase.

Batteries like full gas tanks have the potential to be bombs. In the old days UL had to certify the safety of electrical items. With the wonders of deregulation the slave labor force that is main land China can put potential bombs into every American home.

I didn't realise Specialized had so many trolls on the payroll

Not trying to be a troll but your post reminds me of posts I used to see on the car forums I also frequent. Someone would post that their engine was burning to much oil at 50,000 miles. Then through a bunch posts it would come out that the original poster had only changed the oil once in that 50,000 miles🤦‍♂️. Mountain bikes live a hard life, e bikes live an even harder life. To make matters even more difficult on them, they tend to get used even more than a regular mountain bike. Looking back on Strava my average Mtb ride was 6-12 miles a day, my average e-Mtb ride is over 20 miles a day and where I am a total wreck after a Mtb ride, I can go out the next day after an e-bike ride. Now I have no idea how hard and where you ride. If your bike had 500 miles on it when the motor let go, you should be upset. If on the other hand you had 3000 miles of mud rides coupled with deep stream crossings and pressure washing of your bike, then you got what you paid for. Only you know how you treated your bike, only you know how much mileage you have on your bike and only you know what service was done to your bike.

OP has been banned.

Complain about your bike all you like (even if you're in the minority and had a Levo motor last 4 years).

But kindly refrain from calling the other members trolls.
Sounds like a very tough decision. In my world words is a trifle that doesn't offend me but politically correctness trumps everything these days.

Most people come her to exchange knowledge and ideas, not to be insulted. What one person finds insulting maybe won't be to another person - we have to take everyone into account and try to avert situations which will degenerate further.

With only two posts and no other interaction they hadn't spent anytime building up any form of respect or personaility for us to refer to which could have resulted in a different response. Calling everyone a troll, in their second post, who didn't agree with them isn't acceptible - here or anywhere else for that matter.

I get your point, but as you said, the person had two posts, and the first one was a understandable question, but maybe a bit silly, which I also commented on, then it continued with some posts where the person just about got attacked for his stupidity, so that he eventually got really mad is understandable on my part. Either way, you've made a decision, so for me, this case is closed😉

Maybe your new to motorized sport. When I was into Karting I was replacing parts all the time. Imagine after 15-20 hours of use you have to rebuild the top end of the motor for 800. but wait, 20 hours after that you pretty much have to rebuild the top and bottom for 1500. That was on the least high maintenance engine. If it was a shifter your fully rebuilding every 5 hours lol.

$129 for a cable is really no big deal. Fix it and keep on shredding :)

Hello, I like your comment and attitude. 👍 Not being a native English speaker I think the reason for the quick escalation could be in the use of POS (Piece of S… ?) in the opening post. But yes you are right, case closed. 🙂

Thanks to the mod for the well formulated explanation for taking action. 👍

Great people make a great forum!
