Hi all,
Just taken my old 26 inch 11kg hardtail out just to compare with the trek rail ! I had to stop twice to check wheels were rolling freely ? so different does this mean I will never ride an ordinary bike again ?

Haha same first time i went out on mine after getting Ebike. Went up local hill on it when motor was getting replaced thought it so slow on the climb.

Different riding discipline.

I just had my 29” hard-tail serviced, new chain, cassette, brake-pads, etc.

I am amazed how light it is and ‘chuckable’ into tight spaces. Much slower, but that is my muscle-power issue, not the bike’s.

I use both bikes for slightly different experience

I just bought some commuterish tyres for this carbon on-one 456 I’ve had in garage but been reluctant to sell.

I took it out for a spin a few month ago and found it tediously slow, even for a sub 10kg bike.

So tried it on some thinner smaller nobbled tyres today. Whilst that did improve things it’s still a bit steady on climbs and flat. I think I’ll be using it sparingly unless eBay is fetching strong money still.

On a positive note it was like lifting a bag of shopping and chuckable, as other say different experience. Still enjoy the ‘acoustic’ full suss 26 er from time to time. Was good at Leeds bike park other day.
