Which reviews are saying Coed y Brenin is crap?

Antur Stiniog, Revs and Difi are all fairly near.

What are you looking for in a bike park?

Antur Stiniog is a DownHill bike park. The first thing the guy at reception says after you have replied no to his question "have you been before" is "Beware! This is a Downhill, bike park, the blues here are like reds elsewhere!" He was not exaggerating.
Bike Park Wales is a much better proposition in that there is not that confusion.

We did 2 days at CyB last summer. It's pretty good, just don't bother doing the whole Beast. We also did days at Afan, Llandegla and Cwm Carn. All are good in their own way but Afan was my least favourite.

Lol... Everyone has a different opinion on trail centres, they are what they are man made trails that some find difficult and some find not.

Coed Y brenin is one of the better ones thats why its always fairly busy, go try it for yourselves I doubt you will be disappointed.

Depending where you are staying, Llandegla on the way, Marin in the afternoon, Coed Y brenin on the Saturday, you can fill a day, Say hi to Mark & Julie at the Cafe in the woods, Stiniog on the way home if you've not had too much ale the night before.

All within 40- 50 minutes drive between each other.
