The E8000 external batter is such a pile of junk
I don't know how this ever passed testing, but the E8000 external battery has an extremely poor receptacle and connector plug. The connector plug just falls out and has no locking mech. And the receptacle is loose a jiggles around. Very poorly thought out. They didn't have to design their own plug. Off the shelf connectors exist that are extremely durable and reliable. I know this because i've been in the DIY space for a long time.
The problem has frustrated so much that im unlikely to buy another Shimano eBike.
