Noticed the latest firmware is now 7.4.1 as of last week.

Anyone know the changes between 7.3.6 (the version that was released to decrease motor failures) and the latest?

(Other than walk mode still doesn't work properly)

The announcement says the new firmware improves torque spikes as well.

Walk assist is definitely improved in 7.4.1. It's not as "good" as it was before but it's definitely usable. The main thing is, if you're having trouble, double-check the gear you're in. I found that in 36x50 the assist would cut out every few seconds. But in 36x42 it works fine. It makes no sense to me, but I'm just happy to have something that works.

Do they ever publish release notes? I have asked rider care several times and they dont know about it. I have asked them several times what is the most current firmware and they dont even know that! The just say take it to a dealer to be updated. I have made more that one trip to a dealer for nothing.

Below is the response I received from Specialized Rider Care about the FW update.

Hi and thanks for reaching out,

The 7.4.1 motor update addressed issues related to the Walk Assist functionality. It also fixed a "bug" related to Code10 errors that would trigger a motor error on the TCD and required riders to restart the bike to clear.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and enjoy the ride!

Smoother motor response.

Better battery efficiency.

Less belt strain via a smoother acceleration response curve to rider torque.

Increased motor reaction to pedal strike kick back.

More effective walk mode, more inline with the original walk mode but still complying to global legislation.

Increased average protected range in eco mode.

Increased attractiveness to riders of opposite or same sex (selectable in MC under rider profile/region/preferred gender of region).

thanks, how did you know all this? Looks like you have the rev notes but only shared pieces. I always take time to read through rev notes before updating anything and they are typically available. Are these notes available and if YES where can I find them.
I never had a motor error until after the 7.3.6 update and have now had it three times since.

I updated mine and everything works great except I am getting a red bar and a blue bar below that about every 1/4 mile. Everything still works as it should and the power never cuts out. (It never did this before is what has me concerned)

Did we sacrifice too much for the 7.3.6 update? The only issues I have had is with the false start error that would shut down the motor and the wimpy walk mode. Of the points above, better battery efficiency has potential for something good. More effective walk mode is something we need without doubt. But what is "Increased average protected range in eco mode"? As far as the increased attractiveness effect, I can't see how that is even possible. Plus, I don't think my wife would think it is even possible.

I think I'll skip this update until they figure out the light flashy thingy.
I would still go with update as the light issue might not be related and the motor feels a lot better ! I rode Thursday and it felt sluggish ( I thought I was getting unfit ) when climbing , then realised the acceleration bar was at 0 so reset to 40% and rode yesterday and it was sweet !
If you had watched my last ride vid you can notice a horrible clanking noise when climbing plus a rubbering rubber noice everywhere but they’ve gone and motor feels like it’s had a service ?
Motor died the weekend after ☺️
