When passing folk on hills I apologies haha and then when folk pass me I give them a pitboard style update on their current speed and whether they mind me slip streaming

I've had one experience of it when out for a road ride with my cousin.

We stopped to help two riders that where having an issue. It transpired, that one of them had lost a pedal cleat, and they couldn't sort it out. I offered to remove my own cleat and give it to the rider, as I could ride flat, and had more cleats at home.

His reaction, was to talk to my cousin, to say that he wanted nothing from me. He didn't even look at me.

His loss, not mine.
