hello chaps
new here and new to e-bikes. Came on here to look for axle replacements but i thought i might as well show off the old bike and the new project.

so as the title says; 3 crashes in 3 weeks
first week i got the bike i lost traction on a turning, slipped out and ate shit. had to spend about half an hour on someone's driveway filing the dropouts just to get home.
second week i hit a pothole down some country roads and bent my wheel. also smacked my knee up the floor.
third week i hit a bin on the path, went out into the road and got hit by a van (wheelchair in pic related)

still going to get back on the ol bike because I've learned my lesson.... probably
also the GT is going to be what i put the kit on next IMG_2903.jpg IMG_2904.jpg IMG_2906.jpg

This must be a complete wind up..did someone pay you to take it away..?
So nowt to do with the fact that the bike looks like a complete and utter death trap that hasn't seen any maintenance in years ..
Looking at it's replacement ..you won't be too far away from crash number four ..do yourself a favour and wheel it to the tip ..but whatever you do don't ride it ..

Let's keep it gentle.

No one can deny that the bikes in picture are really not in good shape or well serviced - at all. Riding or having crash does not do that but lack of bike maintenance clearly do.

Yes money can be a reason for not doing it, at the very least not for the drivetrain, but it soon becomes more expensive to not do the minimum as we see in the photo. You definitely need to be more careful about the bike after riding.

OP you got an advice to not ride it, you do you, I would not ride it either in its condition. But for a new project, just for fun why not but I would be really afraid of the overall cost: decent brake, new drivetrain, BB, crank, pedal, fork does not look good either etc.

In the end it might totally be way more expensive a very good new entry bike from a shop (eg: Decathlon)

Again, you share on a forum to discuss and have feedback, you do you.
