Anyone tried the WTB Vigilante 29 x 2.8 on 2019 + Levo ?? I ride dry sandy desert so not to concerned with mud clearance issues.

Thanks in advance!

Yes - and I love it! I run the high grip on the front and a Specialized Eliminator grid 2.6 on the back. I'm in NorCal and it's been dry, dusty and really chunky rocks where the tire shines. Not too sure I'll like it when the rains start however
I find the Vigilante very confidence inspiring - more so than any Maxxis I've tried

I have run them front and back with i35 rims on a 2020 Levo Comp...no room for a rear fender to keep crap out..but it will clear.

I prefer to run 3.0...so I will go back to 27.5 plus in the rear (Purgatory), 29 plus front (Bontrager SE4) on i40.

These 2.8 don’t have near the volume of other 3.0 tires.

The back will take a 29 x 2.8--clearance very tight and NOT recommended by Specialized-- but no issues after 8 months of riding.
I find the wider tires (a 3.0 on the front) give me more confidence riding up and down steep granite faces and negotiating wet roots...
Gary has previously accused me of being an idiot and he may be right
