2022 Giant reign e geo chart out to lunch! BB height vs Drop.

Hey all can anyone check if what I am seeing is correct?

The bb drop should be 15mm in high and 25mm in low. I have it in high.

Drop is measured from an imaginary line between axles. As its mullet I measured the height at the rear to be conservative.

27.5 axle 355mm off the ground, so in high the bb should be at least 340mm (should be a little higher as the front wheel is 29)

325mm! not sure what is going on, everything is stock, the shock is the correct size (I measured it) but this is insane. Only think I can think of is the chart was always wrong, or maybe the rear triangle is the wrong size or something??.

Would appreciate it if someone could take a look at their bike and see if is the same?

Ran a string line between the front and rear axle drop is measured at 30mm not 15mm…. If a pull up on the seat post to top out the shock while doing this I get 28mm. This method removes any tyre size error to measurement.

Im going into the shop this arvo to see if we can work out if it something is bent or installed wrong

Hi, yes this is "normal", my 2022 e+2 has the exact same numbers, it is way too low... Check out your head angle with a phone app (or tool), I am below 63 degrees in High! Some reign frames are less low according to forum users.

(2.6tyres front and back), 180mm fork, 150mm cranks, low % sag front and back.

My BB is around 340mm now, but I rarely hit the pedals with my setup. Would still 100% want the BB to be 2cm higher.

Did you ever talk to giant about it, did they say it’s within spec?

Never talked to Giant, the shop had warned me that the bike was very low and had to be ridden in high setting. The biggest issue was when I swapped in my high-end wheels with 2.4 tyres, couldn't pedal across anything technical.

Rob's video review mentions pretty much the same BB height and head angle, so I was somewhat aware of the issue going in.
