Currently riding a 2020 Levo FSR base model, and I love it. But as a heavy rider I have to be really economical with battery to “last” the ride with my much more talented mates on MTBs (usually around 30 miles in 4 hours mixed fire track and trails).

has anybody swapped the 500wh battery for the 700Wh? How much more range would this provide? Or is the extra cash better put towards a newer model?

My bike came with the 700wh battery and I picked up a 500wh battery for a good $$. I've never measured the range difference between them but it's certainly quite big.
I appreciate the 500wh battery when I have less time before dark as it's close to 2lbs lighter so it allows for more nimbleness.

Whether you opt for a new bike or another battery, I think you'll appreciate the added range

I've got a 19 Levo with 700w battery and usually get about 50km riding mainly in trail with little bit of boost when req , switching back to trail asap
I tried my mates 500w for several rides as a comparison , rode the same routes trying to replicate my normal riding style
Got on average 38km , so a fairly large difference
Zero range anxiety for me using the 700w battery , I'm usually spent before it is .

I'm 12 st 7lb plus kit
Definitely recommend the 700w battery if range is a priority , didn't notice the weight difference but I'm no expert , just have a good ? before you go out
That should balance things up in the weight department ?

Haha I was going to say I can easily make up the 2LBs! ? thanks. Now the question do I keep hold of the £1100 quid for a 700wh battery and put it towards the new model with a 700w battery. Is that the comp?

That's a tough call , what do the numbers add up too if you sold your current bike and put the proceeds plus your £1100 towards a new bike which has a 700w already ?
Also is the potential new bike better specced ?

Based on the updated pricing, I would just get the battery. The new pricing has jumped significantly.

Regarding range, I swapped the 500 for the 700 and it is significant. We have done 60 miles and 7K of vertical.

Thanks l. I’m completely happy with the frame and spec etc so buying comp model would cost around 3K out my pocket, whereas £1100 for the 700 W battery and selling the 500 for £400(??)Would mean it would cost me £700 all told. Think that’s the plan!
