2020 Specialized levo/kenevo rumors?

Why do people assume Fox is better than RS? From my experience the mid level RS forks are better than the Fox equivalents, and IMO the Lyric Ultimate shades it over the Fox Factory 36 at the moment too, mainly due to it having the edge on smoothing out trail chatter.

Often it is a memory. Riders get a very affordable bike, decide they want to ride a lot, buy a better bike and boom brand x or y or z is great because it is not entry level. I see it on fat bikes. The original tire was so cheap that they love an average tire having never tried better. I never had a problem with RS, Fox and another brand probably because for low price i buy used not entry level.

I also ordered the 2020 Turbo Levo Expert Carbon in Gloss Carbon/Gun Metal. The price is $8,225.00, with delivery "sometime in August". I can't stand any of the 2019 color options, so I ended up ordering the 2020. Almost went for the 2019 S-Works for an even $10k, but just couldn't quite justify the cost difference.

Nothing..... I just sold my 2017, so I'm sure it's going to be something stupid like October now that I don't have a bike.

Specialized is not even taking orders for 2020 as far as I know. Dealers are letting their reps know what they want though.

Maybe the bikes are not ready. Or maybe they are trying to sell off the 2019 first.

Called my dealer and they said they may have an update at the end of this week, but for now, they are guessing September.

So... I asked if I could borrow a demo bike, of any brand. Dealer said "Sure, you can borrow a demo until your bike comes in." Wow. I am blown away.

Hey all, I’m new here and new to ebikes. I’m looking at getting a Specialized but hoped for some opinions. My local shop currently has the Levo Comp Carbon on sale for $5900, the Levo expert for $7k and the Kenevo Expert for $5600 (all 2019s). I’m torn on which to get, largely because I’m getting back into mountain biking after a 15 yr distraction into dirt bikes and adventure bikes. I’m 6’3” and 225#. My skill, and fitness, level is weak now, but I’m very comfortable on two wheels on dirt.

Here’s where I’m hoping to get opinions. 1. Are these “go for it now” prices, especially on Levo considering popularity? 2. Is the Levo Expert worth the extra cost considering I’m nowhere near an “expert”. I know the larger battery is definitely an upside. 3. For someone who will just get on and ride the regular/basic trails in the Colorado foothills (I guess a lot aren’t “basic”), but sometimes go big on exploring deep into the mountains, is the Levo a better fit over Kenevo? I’ve read some reviews that say the Kenevo is impressive and fun, even for people not focused on bombing downhill.

I got a 2020 Comp on order. The Expert would have cost me $1600 more and have the same 700Wh battery. $1600 to drop maybe 1-2 lbs is no worth it to me.

Given your weight, you probably do want the 700Wh battery, but you could get it in a 2020 Comp.

As for your prices, I can't tell as you didn't list what year they were. Are they 2019? They are 15% off. That is a normal to decent discount on a 2019 as of this last week as Specialized put some (mostly Kenevo) on sale for that. If they are 2018, then I would say it is a bad deal.

I wouldn't buy a Kenevo now as it has the old motor and is two years behind, unless you just needed it and didn't want to wait for the upcoming one, but it is using the 2018 motor.

Either bike is fine for adventure. Levo better for climbing, Kenevo better for gravity but both will do the other more than enough.
Personally I’d stick with an expert. Especially on the Levo with the bigger battery but if your going to upgrade parts anyway then maybe the lower spec is for you.
I’ve gotten up to 100kms with the Kenevo on mainly flat trails with high psi in the tires. Average is 50kms on hilly proper mtb.
Really depends where you ride.

I am predominately gravity focused so I went with the Kenevo and haven’t regretted it one bit.
If climbing/xcountry was my thing I’d definitely go the Levo with the bigger battery.
