Levo Gen 2 2020 Gloss carbon paint finish

Recently sized up a medium Levo Expert carbon 2020 in gloss carbon and was a bit shocked by the finish. I’ve read threads about this and
it seems that this is the way carbon looks, however, the one I viewed seemed to have what I would describe as sections of protective clear tape.
on the downtube, which looked really ugly. Do showroom bikes have a protective tape applied or is this how the gloss carbon is?

I’m really leaning towards the Levo but my LBS only has this gloss carbon in stock and not sure I can live with it, especially after spending £7k!

Eager to hear opinions from gloss carbon owners?

On the 2020 gloss carbon expert what your seeing is the unidirectional carbon weave under the gloss

Unidirectional carbon weave is the best carbon weave for frames and parts that have forces applied to them from all different directions

The downtube has a thick protection tape on it to stop any rock strikes from damaging the gloss lacquer and the carbon, you could
remove it if you wanted to, this protection tape is fitted to all versions of the Levo as far as im aware

I like the carbon weave on my 2020 Expert and the downtube protection tape has done its job

Mine is the gloss carbon 2020 and it looked crap out of the shop. I fitted Invisiframe gloss which although is transparent, hides the majority of what you’re talking about ?
