Hi!

As you may already know (I have opened some other threads about my motor replacement), my 2019 Fathom E+2 pro had a motor replacement some weeks ago. My hardware version was 2018xxxxx before the replacement, now it is:
Software version is 20191231004 and Hardware is 20190100000

I had some hope that with a new motor I would be able to use the new smart assist mode, but I can't (can't activate it using the manual or forum current methods).

Do you know if this is just a software limitation or maybe there are some motors with hardware version 20190100000 and without the 6 sensors technology?

I see some misunderstanding here, so let me clarify my situation:

before) 2019 Fathom E+2 Pro with original pro motor (hardware revision 2018xxxxx MY19). Motor stopped working so it got replaced
after) 2019 Fathom E+2 Pro with replaced pro motor (hardware revision 2019xxxx MY20), new motor and controller sent by Giant.

All 2020 syncdrive pro models (MY20) I have seen have the same hardware revision: 20190100000

So my question is... is there any software or hardware limitation so I cannot use smart assist mode?

Thanks!!!

You also need a 20' ridecontrol one remote for the smart assist. If I use a 19' remote on my 20' bike the smart assist does not work.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I also have a new ant+ controller. Giant sent everything together, motor and new ride control one controller. As long as I know there is no MY19 controller with ant+

that’s why I think it should work but does not :(

2019 bikes have the older 4 sensor system, whereas 2020 bikes have the new 6 sensor system.

The bike needs all 6 sensors for the smart mode to work.

Most (if not all) 2020 giant bikes have the 20190100000 hardware version because the motor was developed in 2019 and started sellings in 2019.

My 2019 fathom was 2018xxxxxxx hardware version previous to the replacement.

I have not seen yet any 2020xxxxx hardware revision number...

I thought the sensors where inside the motor, aren't they?

Wait a minute... maybe the hardware version is just the version of the controller and not motor xD

that explains everything :)
