Hi all,
I had previous issues with my 2019 (gen 1) kenevo and have since replaced the battery to motor cable. This has made the bike work well most of the time. When dry, the bike now seems fine. Power throughout, remote works fine etc.
However, on wet rides, more so near the end of them I sometimes get intermittent power once or twice. On some occasions I have to turn the bike off and unplug the connector to get the bike to go again. When I get it home, it seems to get worse and sometimes just won’t give power assistance at all and sometimes struggles to change modes.
Leaving The bike for a few days seems to help and slowly it comes more and more back to no issues at all - until more rain!
I have attached some pictures of what the inside of the motor connection looked like from my last ride - bearing in mind when I changed the cable this was perfect with no corrosion and this was maybe 5 rides ago. I theN have taken the motor out and dried it inside. It seems to be running better but not perfect.
My questions are:
1)the motor is just out of warranty now, I believe you can get a discount through specialized on another motor? If I open the current motor up to look inside or modify it’s sealing, can I still use this warranty
/ discount scheme?
2)has anyone else had issues with water getting in here and is there much I can do? If it doesn’t hurt my chance of a discounted motor, I was wanting to look inside the blackmotor connection wherebatter to motor cable plugs in. I am sure water is getting into this through the plastic itself (not through the cable which has o rings etc on it)
please let me know you thoughts
