I purchased a new Garmin HRM1G 18 months ago. ( Chest Belt type)
I have tried pairing it using the Ride Control One Ap, and the Garmin C (connect) Ap with no success.
My son-in-law has managed to pair the HRM to his watch, which would suggest the Garmin is working okay.
Garmin don't even show this device on their website, and I can't find a way to contact them for advice.
My LBS has tried pairing for me, but with no success.
I understand the Ride Control One unit is ANT+ compatible but am at a dead end now.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Search the Gaint forum. I'm pretty sure the RC1 can be replaced with a 2020 unit compatible with ANT.
Thanks for that advice. That may well be the answer. As soon as the 2022 Giant Trance +1 pro arrives at the LBS in NZ, I am selling the current Giant to my son-in-law. That may well be the case: i.e. The RC1 is not compatible with Ant+, although one would have thought the LBS would be aware of that. Not a big issue really, but I have a heart issue and need to be aware of my heart rate so I am not overloading my heart.

I started trying many different heart rate monitors for the same reason, so I tried garmin 810 with garmin chest strap, aftermarcket wrist straps, etc.
In the end, an apple watch 3 was the best. It is waterproof, works well with sweat and rain.
At this moment, while typing this it just sounded an alarm that my HR has been less than 40 bpm ;) its ok since I’m relaxing at the sofa.
