Review: Almost two years ago, I bought a brand new Cannondale Moterra Neo 5 for around $5000 from an official dealer in Indonesia — and it turned out to be the worst bike purchase of my life.
About a month in, the Shimano battery died and the bike just wouldn't turn on. It took them a whole month to replace it under warranty. A couple of months later, I had another issue — the bike wouldn't charge because of faulty connectors, which took another two weeks to fix. Then the motor broke down — also replaced under warranty — but that repair dragged on for five months. While they were fixing the motor, the on/off button broke, and now they've asked me to wait another 45 days to get it replaced.
All in all, out of two years of owning this bike, it's spent over six months in repairs — and will probably spend even more time there once the warranty expires. Honestly, it feels like they're dragging out the repairs on purpose just to avoid further warranty claims.
On top of that, they don't provide any documents confirming the replacement parts, so I have no way of knowing if they're actually installing new components or just recycling old ones.
I've tried reaching out to the official Cannondale distributor in Indonesia, but they just ignore my messages. Maybe someone from the company actually reads Reddit?
Before this bike, I had a cheap Chinese e-bike for two years and never had a single issue with it. Cannondale charges premium prices for garbage quality and delivers zero customer service. Now I'm preparing to take legal action because I refuse to let them get away with taking $5000 from me and leaving me with a pile of metal and wires.
