2017 JAM2 TEC pack without intern1al battery conversion - possible?

Hi guys,
Judging from the situation my internal battery is completely dead, and I cannot get the bike to work with the TEC pack anymore due to this.
I have now removed the internal battery (which is obviously supposed to be possible to exchange its so easy) but I cannot find a replacement.
My idea is to try to use the TEC pack only, has anyone done this?

It's really a pity, and in my opinion should be forbiden by law, that the batteries of this ebike can't have an easy to find replacement or an open source solution so that it can be repaired. It's just a couple of 18650 batteries and a BMS, designed so that if you try to repair it gets locked and useless

I have not given up hope yet. I am based in Luxembourg, Germany is across the border and Kalkoff / Focus is there. Also my local bike shop is Andy Schelck Cycles (Andy Schleck is a former Tour de France winner) and I bought the bike from him. If anyone can pull some strings its him.
In the meantime I have turned the bike into a regular MTB.. removed the battery and installed a spare "motor" which I have stripped out. Interested to see the weigh once done.
If I dont get a battery.. I will be selling my TEC pack as well as a relatively new E8000 motor with full power mode enabled (60km/h).

The 378 wh battery on my Jam 2 conked out a couple of years ago. At the time, a replacement battery was available in the UK for £500 and I bought one. Fitted it and it worked as it should, until I tried to connect my TEC pac. The new battery wouldn't recognise it and no one could tell me "why not".

The lesson I have learnt is that it is best to avoid bikes with that brands own (made in China) battery, such as your Focus and just stick with bikes that utilise batteries and motors from the same manufacturer as those manufactures will have invested way more into their product.

Best thing you can do with your Focus is sell what bits you can and buy a new bike whilst there still are plenty of offers about.

Shame though as I thought the Shimano powered Jam 2 was a really good, relatively light bike and mine still is, just for shorter rides.

Yeah I will part out at least partially. Now with the really good motor removed and the internal battery out, just the wiring harness, monitor and power mode buttons (as well as two lights) it weighs around 19kg and actually does ride remarkable good. I compared to another MTB I have, smaller size, that weighs 17.5kg, and does not ride as well.
So it's staying in the Garage, pretty decent kit to be hones once stripped of the extra weight.,

60 km/h!! WTF I had heard about old firmwares and changing to US limit (35 km/h), but not that amount. How did you manage to do that?

Good news, Local bike shop comes good.

The legend Andy Shleck can order a battery for me, met him today and it is already confirmed, however it will take maybe a month or two. I guess it needs to be sent from China, and by ship.
Anyway I am super happy, bike lives to fight another day.

Pleased you've got a new battery on the way but I'm not quite sure why acquiring one was such a drama for you. I was in my lbs (UK) last week and asked if the 378wh battery was still available. The reply was "yes, but it will have to be ordered in".
When I got mine a year ago I was also told it could take two months to arrive, it turned up in under two weeks. Hopefully, yours will be as quick.
When yours does turn up I would be interested to know if your TEC pack battery still works with it, mine doesn't, although I have a Trailwatts extender which does.

Well its a case of not finding it on the Internet, discontinued everywhere and not imagining that the LBS can do better. Very happy to be proven wrong this time.
Absolutely live the bike with the mods that i have done too it.
Bigger chainring
11-42 cassette with XD Driver hub
260 Swalbe Super Moto road tires
And the software tubing
This thing absolutely flies.

Regarding the TEC pack then mine did not come with the bike, I bought it second hand, and it worked fine. Interesting to see if it still works with a new battery.

Bike is my daily driver, but I only do 10km pr day to work, with my dog in a basket in the handlebars

Thats Romeo, a rather big Bison-Maltese (8+ kg) in a Rixen/Kaul dog basket rated for 7kg (German 7kg so at least 9). Worked super well for almost 7 years.
This is how he travels home from "work" but going to work he takes a Piaggio Vespa (my wifes)
