Hi
My 2020 levo came out with a 2.3 Purgatory , I have had a punture on every ride that I have been on and my tire id full of bacon bits.

Looking to replace my tires since I have lost any trust in the back... but I like having my tire bends the same in front and back...
so want to put a 2.6 Magic Mary on the front and a HD on the back .... will a 2.6 fit or will I need to stick to a 2.35 ?
thanks

2,6" will fit, actually 2020 Levos in Europe come stock on 2,6" front and rear even that Specialized specifications says it is 2,3" on rear ...

Mines has a 2.3.on the back ..perhaps other parts of the words got different specs ?

But glad a HD 2.6 will fit ...will go ahead with the change

It will be a tight fit with a 2.6 but as you are in Cape Town I guess you don’t have a need to use a rear mudguard that much down your way ;)
I had the same issue, multiple punctures due to the rocky terrain and using thin wall tyres. I used the Schwalbe ‘Super Gravity’ version (just on the rear) and although slightly heavier it has really robust sidewalls and I have not had a puncture since (y). All depends on the terrain you ride, how hard you ride and tyre pressure (I run 28psi on my 2.35 rear and weigh 78kg fully kitted up).

I've posted this to death recently but an interesting read on all things tyres with some tests and results to get you thinking:

What’s the fastest tyre size for mountain biking?

and the reason I mention it on thread is because manufactures quoted width is optimistic at best:

Hi Kiwi in Wales ..

For summer in Cape Town it would be ideal then since you say it fits. For winter though (which we are going into ) and Cape Town gets winter rainfall, I think I might have to run a 2.35 and then summer put the 2.6 on. What "Super Gravity" you using HD ? and how is it in the welsh winter slop ?

Thanks for the reference...will give it a read.

Not really concerned about rolling resistance on my Levo ... more grip but looks like ill be going with the 2.35 anyways for the winter (Mud clearance.... but I do love the roll over tractor 2.6 tire on the front) .....

I wish tyres would state profile like a car tyre rathrr than just width. A 2.6 on the back of a Levo does not cause problems due to its width but has a very tight clearance as far as profile is concerned....ie size of tyre wall including tread. This is not a big issue as standard but is if you fit a rear mudguard. A 2.6 is however fine once the tread has worn down so do lots of skidding!!

Magic Mary 2.35 Super Gravity.
It is not that sloppy where I am in Brechfa forest. There is a lot of sharp Shale rock which was slicing the sidewalls and puncturing through the tread of the paper thin original tyres on my Levo. Using SG and 28 psi on my rear tyre cured the problem for me in my terrain and conditions.
