I recently had a rear puncture on 27.5 2.6 HighRoller II

I had some 2.8 Magic Marys lying around, so put that on the front and moved the 2.6 Minion DHF to the rear (the 2.8 Magic Marys would rub at the back)

It's good enough for the short term, but the 2.8 rubs the front mudguard on occasion.

So, I'm looking to get a new set of Magic Marys, and rather than going 2.6 front and rear, is there a reason I shouldn't go 2.4 front and rear? (they're cheaper, and seem to more available than 2.6)

My preference is 2.4 tyres.....and Maxxis 2.5 are actually closer to 2.4. I have found 2.6 too vague especially if run with anything less than higher pressures. The only time I would choose 2.6 tyres would be on an adventure type ride where comfort is a bigger priority rather than handling.
