How much stanchion should be exposed on a Fox 38 180mm travel fork?
I measured my Fox 38 exposed stanchion length at exactly 180mm which doesn't sound right, as I'd heard it should be longer... maybe 185mm - 190mm for a 180mm travel fork?

You could measure 10 different fox forks & they would all vary in length 5mm, all the build kits use to get for Transition was surprised the difference although was going back to the Bandit & Covert days!

Hmmm, good question. I went through this with my 36's. I was measuring 170!! Turns out the neg air chamber wasn't equalised properly. Once corrected I measure 185mm.
Take the front wheel out, pop the axle back in. Place your foot on the axle on the floor and pull up on the bars until you hear a hiss. This should correct it.
