My best friends both live in Whitemans Valley on life style blocks, There is a great dirt road up to the hill ridge line and then along the ridge line and back down that we like to do. This is a photo having got back to there abodes having completed a circuit.
Showing my ride course I take up and down. There is some trails that I have seen exits for that I am looking for the entry points but right now the number of trails available are minimal but what is there is excellent and you will never tire coming back for more.
Summit looking to the South and the South Island. You can ride that way and it will take me home along another ride I like doing through Spicer Forest.
Looking towards East Coast and Tawa and the new Motorway being cut through to transmission valley which we all can't wait to be finished. There is in those hills some additional MTB trails to be explored shortly.
Just recently searching for something new to ride I found Rangituhi-Colonial Knob trails in Porirua. There is soon to be some investment to make more down hill trails with a chair lift not that I want or need that but more down hill trails will be awesome. The climb up to the lookout and then...
The awesome swing bridge across the valley. Very impressive feature in the Makara MTB park. So proud of all the work that the Wellington riders put into cutting new trails, trail maintenance and putting in features like this. I am happy to say that I have helped out on half a dozen occasions...
The summit reached via the trail followed that goes across the swing bridge. Nice area for rest and chat with fellow riders. This is where you then access so many of the awesome rides. North Face, Ridge Line Trail, Vertigo, Leaping Lizards etc.
Having come down from the summit via upper leaping lizards you can look back across the valley to where the swing bridge is that I took to get up to that summit. Also shows what a perfect day Wellington put on. There was also no wind which is not typical of Wellington.
Resting and taking some picture of the swing bridge across massive valley at Makara MTB park. The rides here are up there with the best in the world. We are so lucky to have so many good parks and trails here in Wellington
Ride I do which is on my door step of where I live. You can ride all the way to Karori and Makara Park. This is just to the summit and back. There is some excellent single track which not many people know about. The climb is awesome and keeps me ride fit. The battery on the new Expert uses...
