I have CC front and back. I thought they were easy enough to install/remove. I like them because I can run really low pressures here in the rainy PNW (18psi front) to deal with the slippery wet roots and still have really good rim protection with EXO+ tires. Also seems to give a bit plusher...
Scott Ransom eRide 920
Bosch Gen 4 CX Performance motor, 180mm Zeb forks, 180mm awesome rear suspension with Fox X2. Good Shimano componentry and it just works beautifully.
I love my Scott Ransom eRide. 180/180, Bosch and rides beautifully. I like it better than my 2020 Spec Turbo Levo. But horses for courses, the Levo is a better trail bike whereas the Ransom is more of a heavy hitter.
2020 Levo here with over 2,200 miles of year- round hard core use. Steep, rough mountains here in the PNW with lots of mud and moisture. I shift like I’m on an analog bike and keep my cadence high. I don’t wash it after every ride but when I do it’s with the hose and a brush, but I’m careful to...
I’m 6’0” tall on a Large Scott Ransom eRide. It fits me well and the reach is perfect. Compared to my Levo (also size large) it feels more like I’m ON the bike vs in the bike. The seat post is almost too long when fully inserted into the frame at full extension. I’d have to agree with all the...
Luckily things are starting to change. Here in the Pacific Northwest we have amazing trails and big mountains. Most are closed to eMTB’s. There are some test areas open and some (few) single track trails open. Recently I have participated in meetings with local land managers who are addressing...
I had a wobble once on a High Roller II after remounting due to crash/ wheel damage. It was fine before. The last two Maxxis tires I have mounted were installed with cushcore inserts and went on easily without a hitch and no wobbles. HUGE improvement over the stock Levo tires.
Based on your riding style you seem more fitted to an SL. However I am very happy I got the Full Power Turbo vs the SL. I love the power for the mountains here where I ride. With the new extended motor warranty you could probably sell or trade with someone for an SL who wants a Turbo. Best of luck.
The Lyrik fork on the Turbo Comp is reasonably good I’ve found. I wanted a bit more travel and slightly slacker feel so I replaced the air spring with a 160mm unit. It’s still a great trail bike and feels a better on the downhills.
