Description The bike has 1900km on the motor. A substantial proportion of the bike is in as-new condition as the whole frame has been warranty replaced (and not...
I bought my Rise from MTBMonster, it was delivered in August. Last month the EP8 developed a fault so I sent it back to MTBMonster and they sent it on to Shimano who confirmed they needed to replace the motor, however stock is not expected until January. MTBMonster also informed me that Orbea...
Here's an interesting one. I noticed a creaking one day from the bottom bracket area of my Spectral:ON and on inspection there was a large crack in an odd place near the motor (photo at bottom). I sent it back to Canyon under warranty and they've rejected the warranty claim:
Canyon's material...
Edit! Actually there is very little difference - see Which Five Ten mountain bike shoes are right for you? - MBR
The other factor is flexibility of the sole. I find the ordinary Freeriders to have better grip than the Freerider Pro now they have the same S1 rubber because the ordinary...
Actually the Trailcross shoes have less sticky Stealth Phantom rubber, not Stealth S1 like the Freerider and Impact. Which makes the original poster's comment more confusing!
Shimano cranks don't require threadlocker but are required to be tensioned up correctly (a standard allen key does not provide enough leverage) otherwise the same thing happens
Just for clarity, which part or combination of 'short', 'balding' and 'American' is relevant to your disagreement with his his views? I'm particularly struggling to see what 'balding' and 'American' have to do with it, although you are very clear about the importance of not being 'short'.
Lee is shorter than mean height but within one standard deviation so I wouldn't call him 'short'.
Lee isn't really worth listening to anymore, but you are?
There is a second video that includes angle on Joy of Bike now, and most of the other stuff is discussed in the comments of the two...
I've had all three and I'd buy all three again but DT Swiss would be top because they are ultra-reliable and exude quality at a price premium. Second would be Hope but only if I wanted a bling colour.
Absolutely avoid the new design Shimano hubs like the plague! Serviced the freehub 3 times...
I have increased fork from 150mm to 170mm, added a single offset bushing to the shock and use a non-plus rear tyre. I expect head angle to be about 65 degrees now
You can't use an angle set with integrated headtubes
Canyon wouldn't let me buy a second battery cover when I took their offer of a second battery at 10% off. Nice bike but I don't think I'll buy Canyon again.
Rocky Mountain Altitude PowerPlay Alloy 70 size medium. This is a 2019 model bought in November 2019 from Stif Cycles. Spec here: Altitude Powerplay
Also comes with the Mountain Tuning Tool (MountainTuning Tool)
All great working order. In fact, I rode the bike with a different Shimano...
Cassette is mostly irrelevant, it’s the chain that wears and then ruins the cassette.
What chain are you using? It has probably stretched. XTR is the most durable chain.
Only difference with SLX and deore cassettes is the bigger sprockets which I doubt are the problem here.
I thought about going to 36t but didn't bother. If you do you'll probably have to remove the chain guide, or I drilling it a suitable new bolt hole probably wouldn't be that hard.
Anyone have any luck getting a second battery cover? I got my new Spectral:On a while back and Canyon were very happy to sell me a second battery. However, they refused to sell me a battery cover for it as it is a 'critical build component'. Suffice to say, every time I spend 5 minutes on the...
