If you get the old school nail varnish that smell of acetone/peardrops , these are based on nitrocellulose resin, which is the same type of resin old cellulose paint for cars was based on. This works really well on aluminium and sticks like s**T to a blanket. I know this from 30+ years...
Best solution by far and has been talked about on here many times ... Get yourself down to one of those shops all the teenage girls go to with your battery in a bag and match up the colour to a nail varnish ... Thousands of colours in nail polish and they all love a flip/metallic colour these...
One up remote is pretty good, much better than the original. Fitting the cable is easy if you drop the motor. Fiddly if you dont drop the motor, but doable with patients. I've had a few Emtb's and have stripped them down many times, so taking the motor off is no issue. No hard to do, just 6 bolts.
Six bolts to remove motor, pretty easy job to do and makes fitting Kiox cable so much easier. Just make sure you have a torque wrench and some locktite for reassembly .
The kiox charges from main battery when connected on a ride, part of the
The kiox charges from main battery when connected. Part of the 550 error is the kiox stops charging.. The 550 error did not stop you riding at all, everything worked perfectly apart from no power to kiox, so the bike...
Mine happened last May when we had a bit of a heat wave going on. No water anywhere near it for weeks and not even a hose when it happened, so mine definitely was not caused by water .
Yea it seems a few have had this error and new motor is the fix .. I think it’s some internal sensor failure and Bosch just sen out a new motor as the units are not repairable by the dealers
Nah of course I dont mind, its good to share the neat ideas around, when I seen it I just thought "oh someones done the same thing as me" then it was, "hang on, thats my toaster, thats my battery" :) I think it something all Rail owners should do, even when I hose the bike down, nothing gets in...
Guarantee you will come back from your first ride with a big smile on your face :) I'm also the wrong side of 55 been riding for years, but the old bones creaking too much after many broken bones ( not all riding related, but nearly all doing something stupid related  ) so 2 years ago got...

only a few quid for about a mile of the stuff.
If anyone is interested, I found a nail varnish brand called 'Technic' and their Ruby Red is pretty close to the Trek Rage Red..

If I had the bike I could pretty much colour match any colour, but thats not possible. but like I said in my message nail varnishes come in thousands of colours now days and if you look around the accessory shops where all our daughters buy all their crap from you can find pretty much any colour...
I colour match and make coatings and colours for a living, I have all the latest photospectrometers and computer aided colourmatching systems. (these systems do not work well with metallic colours as the light reflects into the optics from the glitter and gives false reading) I can assure you...
With my Maxxis Minions I have Kiox wheel size now set to 90.35. This setting works perfect for me for speed and distance when matched to GPS data. This was achieved by having a measured mile stretch of road and small adjustments (many many small adjustments) of the wheel size until exactly 1...
Yes the Kiox does come with a mount, but this mounts on the stem cap, the mount can be changed easy, one allen screw and the trek top tube mount screwed in its place.
Agreed the Santa Cruz is a awesome looking piece of kit. (a little envy setting in :)) .. I have been riding e-bikes for 3-4 years now and some 30 odd years before that on standard mtb but after 15 or so broken bones (not all bike related, but usually doing something stupid related) the age...
I always remove mine to charge .. Main reason is I like to store the bike and battery separate for security .. Bike is securely locked in garage, battery and Kiox display safe in the house .. If some ne'er do well comes to try and part me from my bike, they will only get the bike (which is...
